Restaurant Design - Samsung Corporate Cafeteria - Fremont, CA

Contemporary International Company Headquarters encourages thinktank activities by offering onsite dining conducive to furthering corporate culture.

Challenge: Create a world-class cafeteria featuring a variety of cuisines, including chef's Korean specialties, for multi-ethnic employee base while encouraging employee interaction and brainstorming of new ideas, and doubling as a casual auditorium space for parties, CEO rallies, meetings, and presentations.

Design Solutions:

• Created vibrant and energetic spaces punctuated by bold colors and curved shapes in custom steel entry canopy and divider as well as curved divider walls defining CEO's special table and speaker's platform.
• Added custom artisanal elements including hand-painted murals of food and employees in park-like setting on soffits to bring the outdoor scene inside as well as etched-and-painted glass divider in microchip design defining "think-bar" with computer hook-ups.
• Calculated space planning to move lunchtime rush through cafeteria quickly and efficiently while highlighting food options clearly and appetizingly.
